Reflecting on 2024: Over 17,000 Journeys and Growing Connections

As we look back on 2024, we’re incredibly proud of the progress Ryde has made in just nine months of trading. Since launching in April 2024, we’ve completed 17,180 bookings, covering an impressive 63,693 miles across Jersey - connecting people, places, and communities.
These milestones are a testament to the amazing support we’ve received from our team, customers, and partners. A particular shoutout to Digital Jersey for their invaluable guidance and support, and to Jersey Electricity for the fantastic charging infrastructure that powers our fleet and keeps us moving!
What Ryde achieved in 2024:
- 35 Corporate Accounts Signed: We’ve partnered with some of Jersey’s leading businesses, offering tailored transport solutions that align with their sustainability and employee well-being goals.
- Supporting Local Drivers: We’ve helped over 28 individuals into the industry become licensed taxi drivers, creating new career opportunities for people from all walks of life. We ended the year with 19 dedicated drivers on the road driving for us.
- Fleet Growth: From acquiring just one car at the start of the year to having eight vehicles actively on the road for New Year’s Eve, we’ve scaled our capacity to meet increasing demand while maintaining a quality service.
- Customer Service Excellence: Ryde was positively mentioned 18 times on the notorious “Good or Bad Jersey Businesses” Facebook page - an incredible testament to our team’s dedication to providing exceptional service.
- Fantastic Support Team: Our success wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our team, including Danny Policarpo, our Sustainability and Operations Officer, whose tireless efforts have been instrumental in driving Ryde’s growth. Complementing this is our 21/7 call centre, ensuring we’re accessible to all customers and seamlessly dispatching jobs to our drivers.
Looking Ahead to 2025
While the next few months may be quieter, we’re excited to build on the solid foundation we’ve established. January and February provide a great opportunity to rethink travel, and we’re encouraging the community to continue supporting Ryde as we grow.
Here’s a sneak peek at how we’re taking things to the next level in 2025:
- Diversifying Our Fleet: We’ll introduce larger vehicles for group travel, premium options for luxury journeys, wheelchair-accessible vehicles, and pet-friendly cars. By year’s end, we ambitiously aim to have 40 vehicles on the road, meeting a wider range of transport needs.
- Strengthening Connectivity in Jersey: As we scale, we’re uniquely positioned to enhance seamless transport to and from the airport and harbour, improving access for both islanders and visitors.
- Corporate Collaboration: We’ll continue growing partnerships with local businesses, driving connectivity and sustainability across the island while strengthening Jersey’s economy.
- Affordable Travel: Fair, competitive pricing remains a top priority as we grow our service and customer base.
- Sustainability Goals: Expanding our fully electric fleet and aligning with Jersey’s carbon-neutral ambitions will remain central to our strategy, offering greener transport options.
- Customer Service Excellence: We’ll keep customer satisfaction at the core of everything we do, maintaining the high standards that have set us apart while continuing to scale.
- Enhanced in-App Address Functionality: We’re improving how our system identifies and picks up addresses in Jersey, ensuring an even smoother and more reliable booking process for our customers.
